Dr. Lynette E. Dorsey serves as the Associate Director for Patient Care Services for the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care System.

As a member of the executive leadership team, she is responsible for the nursing services, sterile processing services, social work service and chaplain service.

Dr. Dorsey previously served as the Interim Associate Director of Patient Care Services for the Phoenix VA earlier this year. Before that she worked at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas since 2007 as a Clinical Practice Project Manager, a Nursing Program Coordinator, the Supervisory Health System Specialist/ Administrative Executive, and the Associate Chief Nurse of Operations. She had also served as the Deputy Associate Director, Patient Care Services in Houston since 2016.

Dr. Dorsey is a professional Nurse with over 35 years of experience in a variety of healthcare settings including critical care, disease management, ambulatory care, project management, research, and administration. She is a healthcare executive with a demonstrated track record of improving financial, operational, and clinical performance, as well as a history of working effectively in complex health care environments to find new ways to solve healthcare challenges.

Dr. Dorsey earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Executive Leadership from American Sentinel University in 2020, her MBA in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix in 2006, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Webster University, in 1993. Additionally, she is a graduate of Texas Medical Center’s Nursing Leadership Institute’s inaugural class and a graduate of the VA Health Care Leadership Development Institute.
