ODOT Closure in Beaverton may impact commuters, TriMet bus lines
PRESS RELEASE
March 1, 2024
Portland , OR — PORTLAND, Ore.– VA Portland Health Care System employees, contractors and service providers should be aware of upcoming extended road closures in the Hwy 217 / Tigard, Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and 99W areas starting Monday, March 4.
According to ODOT, the closures will impact Southwest Hall Boulevard, including the Hwy 217 overpass starting at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4.
The work is part of the OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which is creating auxiliary lanes in both directions of the highway between Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W in Tigard. The project is slated to cause a 9-month closure to SW Hall Blvd in that area. Drivers and TriMet bus riders should expect delays and congestion throughout the closure.
Two TriMet bus lines; #43 and #78 will not have service on Hall Boulevard between Locust Street and OR 99W. Visit TriMet’s website for more information.
The intersection of Hall Boulevard and Pfaffle Street will also close during this time. Drivers will be unable to turn onto Hall Boulevard from Pfaffle Street or turn onto Pfaffle Street from Hall Boulevard during the 9-month closure.
The construction project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2025. VAPORHC employees are encouraged to seek alternate routes, and pre-plan to avoid delays. Please also exercise caution during your daily commutes.
