Bernard G. Deazley IV, was appointed as the Associate Director of VA Portland Health Care System in August 2019.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Deazley served as the Assistant Director since 2014, Executive Assistant to Chief of Staff, and served as the VA Puget Sound Mental Health Outpatient Clinics operations manager. Mr. Deazley joined the VA through the student studies program following graduate school. During his VA tenure, Mr. Deazley has held positions of progressive responsibility in research and development, primary care, mental health, operative care and the executive staff. Mr. Deazley has also served as the Interim Director of the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinics (SORCC) from September 2020 to May 2021.
Mr. Deazley is a graduate of the Annenberg Leadership Institute and VHA’s Healthcare Leadership Develop Program. Mr. Deazley received his Bachelor of Science degree from Willamette University (Salem, Oregon) and earned his Master of Public Administration degree at the Lewis & Clark College (Portland, Oregon).
Mr. Deazley is responsible as the health care system Chief Experience Officer and the executive-in-charge of the Vancouver campus and 10 CBOCs.
