Bonnie started her VA nursing career in 2006 and has worked in a variety of roles and settings within VA Boston Healthcare System.
She began as a Registered Nurse on the Acute Spinal Cord injury unit at the West Roxbury campus. In 2009 she accepted a role as the Assistant Nurse Manager in SCI and then expanded her career to serve as the Nurse Manager for both the Acute and Long-term Spinal Cord Injury Units in 2011. In 2015 she assumed the role of Nurse Residency/Affiliations Program Director until transitioning to Quality Management service in 2018 initially as the Risk Manager, then as the Deputy Director of QM in 2021. She was appointed the ACNS of Inpatient Care in West Roxbury in March 2023.
In 1995, Bonnie received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Saint Anselm College. She graduated from UMASS Boston in 2002 with her Master’s degree in Nursing and then obtained a Doctoral of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing in 2018 from Simmons College.
She is an active member of the American Nurses Association, Nurses Organization of Veterans Affairs (NOVA), Curry College Nursing Advisory Board Member, and OQM Professional Development Community of Practice.
Bonnie is adjunct faculty at Regis College where she has taught Evidence for Clinical Practice to Senior Baccalaureate students. She looks forward to supporting the mission and vision of the Nursing Service and is excited to join the Nursing Leadership team at VA Providence.
