New Homes, New Hope: Crossroads Opens Summer Street Apartments

VA Providence celebrates the opening of the new Crossroads Summer Street Apartments—174 one-bedroom units, including 10 dedicated to Veterans through our HUD-VASH program.
This milestone marks a major step forward in providing safe, stable housing for Rhode Island’s Veterans.
The project began in September 2022, when Lisa Luedke, in partnership with the Providence Housing Authority, issued an RFP for HUD-VASH Project-Based Vouchers. Crossroads Rhode Island answered the call, and just two years after breaking ground, the first Veterans are preparing to move in.
VA Providence extends gratitude to Lisa for her leadership, and to Angela and the entire HUD-VASH team for making this collaboration possible. This partnership with Crossroads RI strengthens our shared mission to end Veteran homelessness and expand access to affordable housing.
