On November 9th, VA Providence Healthcare System hosted a USMC Birthday celebration.

The event honored and celebrated the 248th anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps.

The event featured a brief ceremony, where a birthday cake was cut following the USMC protocol. The cake was presented by VA Providence Director Lawrence Connell, who thanked the Marines for their service and sacrifice. The first slice of cake was given to the oldest Marine present and the second slice of cake was given to the youngest Marine present.

After the ceremony, the Marines and fellow Veterans were afforded the opportunity to mingle with each other and share stories and experiences. The event was attended by about 50 Veterans and staff members, who expressed their gratitude and admiration for the Marines and their legacy.

VA Providence is proud to serve and celebrate our Marines and all Veterans every day.
