On May 21, the Veterans Café at American Legion Post 85 in Woonsocket welcomed Veterans 60 and older for a warm meal and even warmer conversation.

The event, hosted by Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island in partnership with the RI Office of Healthy Aging and other local agencies, focused on reducing social isolation and connecting Veterans with critical resources.

VA Providence was proud to take part, with Russell Tippets ( VISN 1 Public Affairs) and Laurel Horan (Eligibility Specialist) on site to answer questions and assist with VA healthcare enrollment. The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) was also present, offering guidance on benefits and claims.

Events like these strengthen bonds between Veterans, their community, and the services here to support them.
