Supporting Survivors: VA Providence Joins Air Force SAPR Retreat
By Justyn Charon, Public Affairs Specialist
VA Providence proudly participated in the annual Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Retreat hosted at the Natick Readiness Center, bringing critical resources and support to Air Force service members and Veterans.
The event focused on healing, empowerment, and building awareness around sexual assault prevention. Representing VA Providence were Joanne Barrett (Women Veteran Program Manager), Kimberly Ferrante (Suicide Prevention), Aquanetta Gifondorwa (Social Worker), and Laurie Harris (Intimate Partner Violence). Together, they offered education, support services, and a strong VA presence for those impacted by trauma.
Thank you to the event organizers and to the Air Force community for creating a safe space where healing and hope can thrive. VA Providence remains committed to standing with survivors—every step of the way.
