Veterans Cafe: A Seat at the Table for Those who Served

By Justyn Charon, Public Affairs Specialist
On Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, VA Providence joined the Rhode Island Office of Veterans Services and Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island for a Veterans Cafe held at the Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island in Providence.
The event created a welcoming, relaxed space for Veterans to gather, connect and share stories with fellow Veterans and community partners. Over coffee and conversation, attendees learned about services and resources available through VA Providence and local organizations committed to supporting Veterans’ well-being.
By hosting the Veterans Cafe in the heart of the community, partners helped reduce barriers to connection and underscored the importance of meeting Veterans where they are. The collaboration highlighted how community-based spaces can play a vital role in combating isolation and fostering belonging.
VA Providence extends appreciation to the Rhode Island Office of Veterans Services, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island and the Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island for helping make the event a success—and to every Veteran who took part.
