Walking the Talk: VA Providence Leads the Way at 2024 Suicide Awareness Summit
On Thursday, September 19th, VA Providence hosted the 2024 Suicide Awareness Summit, bringing together Veterans, healthcare professionals, and community members for an impactful day focused on suicide prevention within the Veteran community.
A key moment of the day was the powerful keynote speech from Dr. Megan Harvey, a psychologist with the Rocky Mountain MIRECC for Veteran Suicide Prevention, who shared the latest research and strategies for saving lives and improving mental health resources for Veterans.
The summit also featured a Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk around the VA Providence campus, starting and ending at The Pavilion, symbolizing the community’s shared commitment to supporting Veterans.
A huge thank you to the VA Providence Suicide Awareness team for their hard work in organizing such an important and impactful event. Together, we continue to fight for the health and well-being of our Veterans.
