We do offer services on a walk-in basis, but we highly recommend scheduling an appointment for a quicker and more efficient experience.  The best way to make an appointment is through the Veteran Enterprise Resource Administration (VERA) website.

Parking at the Providence VA Regional Office can be a bit challenging due to its central location, but there are options available. 

• Direct Parking Lots: There are three parking lots immediately adjacent to the building; one in front, one on the side, and one behind. 
• Street Parking:  Metered parking is available along Westminster Street and surrounding streets. Be sure to check the hours and rates for metered spaces. 
• Garage Parking: Several nearby garages are available, including Westminster Street Garage, Union Station Garage, and Th Industrial National Bank Building Garage, all within a short walk of the office.  

When arriving, it's always a good idea to leave extra time for parking, especially during busy hours. If you're unsure of the best option, calling the Providence VA Regional Office directly at may provide more detailed and up-to-date information. 

The nearest public transportation option is the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus service. The closest bus stop is located at Westminster Street, just a short walk from the office. We are also within walking distance of a Kennedy Plaza.

When you visit, please bring a current, unexpired photo ID. Depending on the reason for your visit, you may need to bring additional these documents and information about you and your dependents:

If you’re a Veteran or service member who experienced military sexual trauma (MST), we can help with benefits-related questions and with filing benefits claims. We can also update you on the status of claims you’ve already filed. Our MST outreach coordinators can help you find and access VA services and programs.

If you have a service-connected disability that limits your ability to work or prevents you from working, we can help you explore your options. Our Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E or Chapter 31) program can help with learning new skills, finding a new job, starting a business, getting educational counseling, or returning to your former job.

If you've already filed a claim, we can help you check the status. If you need help with the IDES process, we may refer you to your Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) and a VA Military Services Coordinator (MSC) to assist and advise.
