Dr. Connie Morantes was appointed as the deputy chief of staff on October 1, 2016.
Dr. Morantes has served as the service line leader for general medicine, which includes oversight of Primary Care at ten sites of care within VA Puget Sound, since December 2009. Morantes obtained her Doctorate of Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine followed by an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals. She was chief resident at the VA Puget sound from 1993-1994 and joined the VA as a staff physician in July 1994. She brings with her extensive clinical experience as a front-line physician as well as operational experience running a large clinical service.
