Barbara Galbraith PhD, MBA, RN

Barbara A. Galbraith was appointed as Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS) for the Roseburg VA Health Care System, effective December 19, 2016. Galbraith oversees all nursing care employees and surgical services, sterile processing, pastoral care, and education for the main Roseburg campus, the Eugene Healthcare Center, and two VA clinics in Brookings and North Bend. In addition, Galbraith served as the chief of quality management at the Roseburg VA before being appointed to ADPCS.

Galbraith began her nursing career in 1982 in the private sector. She accumulated diverse nursing experiences, including emergency room, operating room, mental health, oncology, hematology, endocrinology, hospice, bone marrow transplant, and several in quality management areas. Galbraith retired from the US Army Reserve Nurse Corps with the rank of Major after 21 years of Army service.

Galbraith joined VA in 2003 as a utilization management RN in Sioux Falls, SD. There she later took assignments as a quality management consultant and chief of quality management. Galbraith transferred to the Roseburg VA as the chief of quality management in 2014. Galbraith's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Business Administration, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership.
