Patient Experience Week 2025
VA San Diego Healthcare System participated in Patient Experience (PX) Week
From April 28 to May 2, 2025, VA San Diego Healthcare System participated in Patient Experience (PX) Week, which is held simultaneously in VA hospitals across the country. PX Week is an opportunity for us to show our appreciation to our Veterans for their sacrifice and service to our country and also to our employees for the care and services they provide to our Veterans. The overall theme for this year was “Own the Experience: Your Actions Make Experiences,” which reinforced VA San Diego’s commitment to creating a culture of excellence and high reliability while providing 5-star care and experiences to our Veterans. Each day of the week had a special theme, and various activities and events were held to represent and celebrate those themes.
On Monday, the theme was VA’s National Day of Thanks where executive and senior leaders greeted our Veterans and employees at the main entrance and handed them a gratitude card and thanked them for their service. For Technology Tuesday, we held a Technology, Innovation, and Resource Fair, where we shared valuable information and gave demonstrations to our Veterans and employees on some of the industry leading tools and technologies we have at VA San Diego Healthcare System. On Wednesday, the theme was Voice of the Veteran, and we focused on a “Your Voice Matters” campaign where we educated Veterans on the patient satisfaction surveys they may receive, encouraged them to complete and return the surveys, and informed them on how we use their feedback to continually improve. We also shared our most current VSignals Veteran Trust scores, which the week prior, 96.8% reported their trust with VA San Diego Healthcare System to provide them with their health care needs. That score was #1 of the 38 level 1a VHA’s with the highest complexity rating. For Thriving Thursday, we held a Whole Health Wellness Fair where over 450 Veterans and employees learned about and participated in various self-care tools and resources being promoted. Lastly, on Friday, the theme was Celebrating Employee Excellence where we held an Employee Recognition Ceremony and showed appreciation to our employees who exemplify the VA core values and are dedicated to providing the best quality health care and services to our Veterans.
PX Week was a great success and a microcosm of VA San Diego Healthcare System’s commitment and dedication to provide the highest quality of care and 5-star experiences to our Veterans.
