She facilitates the implementation of collaborations with industry and foundations to establish novel and impactful programs that improve Veterans lives.

Ms. Barry brings a unique skill set in effectively communicating the value of strategic partnerships to a broad audience of Veterans, their Families and Caregivers, Strategic Partners and the larger Veteran centric community with clarity and impact. She functions as an advisor to the Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs to highlight partnership communication efforts as they relate to the VA Secretary’s critical priorities. Ms. Barry also leads the VA strategic partnership teams responsible for the development and implementation of print, televised and social media promotional material.

Previously, Ms. Barry served as a Senior Strategic Communications Advisor in the Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.

Ms. Barry has an extensive background in investigative journalism where her coverage has garnered multiple Emmy Awards and the distinctive Edward R. Murrow Award.

Her close association with the VA began during her investigative work on the highly publicized VA shakeup in Phoenix, AZ. She came to know and form relationships with affected Veterans who were struggling with various combat-related health issues. This ignited a desire to help ease their burdens and to bring their plight to the attention of the viewing audience.

Ms. Barry’s journalism career has also encompassed reporting and anchoring at ABC, CBS and NBC News affiliates in Dallas, TX, Columbus, OH, Milwaukee, WI and Lubbock, TX. Her production experience includes positions with CBS Network, Fox News Channel and MSNBC in New York, NY.
