Lt. Col. Renette J. Hilton, Senior United States Air Force Legislative Fellow
Lt. Col. Renette J. Hilton, a U.S. Air Force Legislative Fellow, served with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary’s Center for Strategic Partnerships during the Fall of 2020. Lt. Col. Hilton contributed to the Office mission by extending her expertise on Veterans’ interactions and perceptions of VA partners, policies and initiatives. Following this four month assignment, Lt. Col. Hilton was assigned as Department of Defense Congressional Legislative Fellow with the 117th Congress where she now assists in bridging better relations on Capitol Hill between Congress and the U.S. Air Force, and is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Legislative Studies through the Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University.
Lt. Col. Hilton is a native of Summit-Argo, Illinois and has served in the U.S. Air Force for nearly 20 years. She previously served as the Deputy Chief, Human Capital Management Branch, Programming and Resources Division, Policy and Programs Directorate, Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs at the Pentagon. In this role, she provided human resource management and policy advisement to senior leaders in support of 1,700 Political-Military Affairs Strategists and Foreign Area Officers throughout the U.S. Air Force enterprise.
She also served as Project Manager with the Deputy Chief of Staff, Manpower Personnel and Services, Pentagon, Washington D.C., developing and applying total force, Force Support policies across the Air Force enterprise.
Lt. Col. Hilton received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at Grambling State University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
