Kemi Ijitimehin, Outreach Manager

Picture of Kemi IjitimehinKemi Ijitimehin served as an Outreach Manager Detailee in the Secretary’s Center for Strategic Partnerships from early March until early July. As an Outreach Manager, she worked with the Senior Advisor to develop, execute, and communicate about innovative programs that bring external resources into the VA to meet the Veteran community members’ most critical needs and was instrumental in delivering technical support to homeless Veterans through SCSP’s partnership with Intel and their generous donations of laptops.

She is passionate about ensuring that transitioning active duty military members have the necessary skills and job prospects to engage in meaningful educational opportunities and create occupational success. Having watched as friends and family struggled to adjust to life as Veterans after leaving active duty, she realizes that creating a support infrastructure for Veterans is critical.

Her career at VA began as an Attorney with the Board of Veterans Appeals, where she handled appellate Veteran’’s claims.

Previously, as the Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at Net Communications, she worked in the telecommunications, technology, and energy sectors to maintain and develop partnerships and strategic engagement opportunities with the public and third-party organizations. Prior to her work at Net Communications, she worked in several roles including at BBC Worldwide and Bristol Myers Squibb on issues pertaining to intellectual property, commercial, administrative law, and litigation issues.

Kemi has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia. She obtained her Juris Doctorate, with honors, from the University of Miami Law School.
