Picture of Kenute MyrieDr. Kenute Myrie is the portfolio manager for oncology and lead for precision oncology in the Office of Research and Development, Clinical Science Research and Development (CSR&D) Service. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a PhD in Human Genetics and a postdoctoral fellow in the Genetics Branch at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Myrie is responsible for coordination, planning, and management of scientific review of research proposals and management of oncology and precision oncology research portfolios. Research awards include preclinical, translational, and clinical research geared towards improving the healthcare of Veterans and development of policies relevant to research and science management. Dr. Myrie also provides scientific expertise to the Services by advising the Chief Research and Development Officer on precision oncology, formulating and implementing strategies for technical and programmatic analyses, applying scientific knowledge to advance innovative solutions, promoting partnerships/collaborations between scientists, and mobilizing resources available in the scientific community and VA research enterprise to expedite the translation of research findings into clinical practice. Additionally, Dr. Myrie manages the Biomedical Laboratory and Clinical Science Services Career Development Program which aims to recruit, train, and retain the next generation of VA physicians and scientists. Prior to joining the VA-ORD, Dr. Myrie served as the program coordinator for the Prostate Cancer Research Program at the DoD/Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
