Cars, Llamas, RC Car Track, Makers Market … What are you doing Saturday? Come Out for the Annual Car Show and new Community Event

PRESS RELEASE

July 3, 2024

Sheridan , WY — The popular Sheridan KARZ Club Car Show continues to expand this year, including a family-friendly community event, led by staff at the Sheridan Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

This will be the second year the Sheridan Veterans Affairs Medical Center team has hosted the 33rd annual car show, and VA staff are excited to expand the already popular annual show.

“Last year was phenomenal,” said Eric Vielhauer, VA’s coordinator for the event. “Our community got a great car show, music, food, bounce house, local business booths and even llamas. This year we wanted to grow it even more, so we have new activity areas like a remote-controlled racecar track and Veteran-focused areas like a makers market, an area dedicated to Veteran-owned trade and craft businesses.”

The small RC racecar track will allow kids of all ages to try their hand at an activity that will soon gain traction in Sheridan, thanks to city efforts to build a community RC track near the medical center campus. The “makers market” features businesses of local Veterans, including those with food and creative products.

Attendees will also be able to choose from a wide selection of food, thanks to food trucks and other food vendors. There will be no alcoholic beverages available as they are not allowed on the VA campus. Community members should also note that guns are not allowed on the property.

The show will also include a Veterans resource fair, with services and programs available for Veterans. Veterans Affairs staff will be available to answer questions on a wide spectrum of health care topics, including the PACT Act—a law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances.

As part of the event, the medical center team is honored to host Steven Miska, the VA’s senior advisor on the implementation of the PACT Act. Miska is an Army Veteran with three combat tours and will be engaging with staff and Veterans throughout the show, as part of his visit to the area.
