Vernica Williams was appointed as Acting Assistant Medical Center Director at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in September 2021. Ms. Williams has served in the VA since 2003.
Ms. Williams' VA career began as a TCF Intern in Human Resources as an Human Resources Specialist. She has served in a variety of positions for over 18 years.
Ms. Williams held various Human Resources (HR) positions before her selection as the Chief of Human Resources in 2017. Ms. Williams's job titles and years of experience consist of Lead HR Specialist, Supervisory HR Specialist, Assistant HR Officer, and HR Officer.
Born in Leland, Mississippi, Ms. Williams considers herself a native Louisianian. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Grambling State University in 2000 and a Master of Public Administration in Human Resources in 2003.
Ms. Williams is the proud mother of her daughter. She enjoys physical fitness, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
