Joy Meier, PharmD, PA, BCACP, VISN 21 Chief Health Informatics Officer (Retired).

 

Joy graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at the DVA Medical Center in Martinez, CA. Prior to her pharmacy career she was a physician assistant, and over the years has held numerous faculty appointments, including assistant professor at Samuel Merritt Physician Assistant program for the past 18 years.  She retired from VISN 21 as the Chief Health Informatics Officer in December 2020. Currently she still precepts the residents for their Academia/Education experiences. Her current practice interests include: informatics, data analysis, clinical dashboard development, oncology (previous VISN 21 oncology task-force chair), and health outcomes analysis.
