Dr. Cal Leuschen is the Acting Chief of Staff since June 2021 for South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS).
Dr. Leuschen received his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska in 1993. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Chemistry. He served in the U.S. Navy until 1999. He completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 2003. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at UTHSCSA from 2003-2008, specializing in Thoracic Imaging. In 2008 he accepted the position of Chief of Imaging Service for South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS). In 2012 he was selected as the Deputy Chief of Staff for STVHCS.
