For the month of February, South Texas Veterans Health Care System staff have been working tirelessly to ensure that its new Community Based Outpatient Clinics are rightfully celebrated and recognized with ribbon cutting ceremonies.

And for the third and final ceremony, the New Braunfels community gathered around its Veterans to commemorate the brand new clinic, which consists of two suites in a newly developed area within the city.

To ensure that VA had a warm welcome to this area of New Braunfels, Mayor Rusty Brockman engaged with South Texas Veterans Health Care System leadership to grow an impactful relationship. He also ensured that all in attendance understood this new clinic’s importance to not just its Veterans, but also the community.

“This is your place to come and to be able to get services that are so important to you and your families,” he said, “because what you get here will make our community even better.”

As South Texas Veterans Health Care System is one of the fastest growing health care systems in the United States, Dr. Julianne Flynn, Executive Director, was truly appreciative of the community support and of all in attendance who came to celebrate this new clinic.

“Veterans, their families, and survivors have served and sacrificed for our country, and now, it’s our job to serve them, as well as they’ve served us,” she said. “All Veterans deserve timely access to world-class health care and benefits, and we will never settle for anything less. We consider it an honor and a privilege to provide the care to the Veterans we serve and who depend on us for their healthcare.”

At this time, Suite 700 is offering primary care and laboratory services, and will continue to grow its number of Patient Aligned Care Teams to ensure all eligible Veterans in the New Braunfels can receive care at this location.

And with a separate dedicated suite just for specialty services, Suite 600 will offer Physical Therapy, Prosthetics, Telehealth, PharmD, Tele Retinal, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Veterans Service Office.

Dr. Scott Wise, President and CEO for Valor Healthcare, was eager for participants to stay after the ceremony and join in a tour of the new facilities and see firsthand how each suite was created for Veterans.

“We have been very purposeful in the design and construction of this facility for the Veterans of New Braunfels and the surrounding communities.”

Valor Healthcare has partnered with VA medical centers across the country and oversee more than 50 locations, caring for almost 170,000 Veterans at sites very similar to this new clinic in New Braunfels.

“We could not be prouder and more privileged to have partners like Dr. Flynn and the South Texas Veterans Health Care System. To work to give back to those who have served,” he shared.

New Braunfels is a community with a vision, Brockman shared, and was honored to be standing amongst Veterans, knowing that they all served the United States so well.

“This is a city of community partnerships that will lean on one another and believe in the military Veterans, because what we do today is for them and their families.”

This new clinic currently serves more than 5,000 Veterans. And as that number continues to grow, Dr. Flynn shared that she views all involved as one team, striving to offer wrap around services to the Veterans in the community.

“For those Veterans here at this event today, you sacrificed so much to defend the freedom of this nation, we consider it a sacred trust to be able to provide exceptional healthcare to you now and in the future,” Dr. Flynn said. “We strive to be your provider of choice and to have that life-long relationship with you as your healthcare team.”

Located at 790 Generations Drive, Suite 700, Veterans interested in receiving their care at the New Braunfels VA Outpatient Clinic may contact the clinic at (830) 643-0717 or request to switch to this location by speaking with their Primary Care Provider.

“For the Veterans here in New Braunfels and the surrounding community, these two buildings are now your medical home,” Dr. Wise said. “And so welcome home to all of you.”
