To better serve the needs of women Veterans in Louisiana’s Capital Region, VA now offers more comprehensive gynecological care at the Baton Rouge Community-Based Outpatient Clinic.

Dr. Julie Taggart, assisted by nurse Phyllis Cooper, provides a newly expanded set of health care services to women Veterans.

Some of the services that will be offered include evaluation and treatment for abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, abnormal pap smears, polycystic ovarian syndrome, sexual dysfunction, sexually transmitted infections, menopause symptoms, infertility, recurrent vaginitis and contraceptive concerns.

“I am excited to provide women Veterans in and around Baton Rouge with high-quality, timely care that can improve their quality of life,” said Taggart. “These services will cover gynecological care throughout all phases of a woman’s life.”

The expansion of gynecology services at the Baton Rouge clinic helps fulfill VA’s commitment to provide more accessible care options.
