Veterans Dedication Wall Honors

By Jaison Bloom, Public Affairs Officer

The American Veterans Dedication Wall was posted at the Casino Del Sol ahead of Veterans Day Weekend.

Its mission is to honor, respect, and remember men and women who served in the armed forces, and to pay specific tribute to those who gave everything during that service.

The public was invited to write a thank-you message to a Veteran and have the opportunity to honor and remember our fallen heroes who carry a special place in their hearts.

SAVAHCS performs a similar recognition quarterly with a Last Roll Call of Remembrance Ceremony. It’s a longstanding tradition at many VA Medical Centers across the nation.

Held quarterly, the solemn memorial service is a poignant reminder that honors Veterans who have passed away in the previous months.

Not only does it recognize the bravery and sacrifices made by the Veterans who have passed away in our facility, but the ceremony fulfills our commitment to care for the widows and families of our fallen heroes. We hope this ceremony brings closure, comfort, and a sense of community to all who attend.
