The Las Vegas Fisher House, located on the campus of the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center, provides a comforting and supportive environment for the families of hospitalized Veterans. The Fisher House allows loved ones to stay close while their Veteran receives essential medical care completely free of charge.
In addition to recent upgrades to amenities such as new kitchen appliances, Las Vegas Fisher House manager Stephanie Wheeler said that they pride themselves on the warm atmosphere they provide for guests. “We are specifically designed to support families during challenging times, offering a ‘home away from home’ near medical facilities.”
Since opening its doors, the Las Vegas Fisher House has served thousands of families, easing the financial and emotional burden of temporary lodging during challenging times. The 16-suite facility features private bedrooms with bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining and living areas, and laundry facilities. Guests are encouraged to connect with others going through similar experiences, creating a sense of community and shared support.
“By reducing travel and lodging expenses, the Fisher House ensures that Veterans are surrounded by the love and encouragement of their families,” said Wheeler. “This is an essential part of the healing process. For many, this generous resource is more than just a place to stay—it’s a source of comfort, compassion, and hope.”
