March is National Nutrition Month, and the TVHS Nutrition and Food Services team has some tips to help spice up your plate.

This year's theme for National Nutrition Month is "Celebrate a World of Flavors." This theme embraces global cultures, cuisines, and inclusivity. Everyone is unique with different bodies, goals, backgrounds, and tastes. By partnering with a TVHS registered dietitian nutritionist, you can learn to create a plate that helps you meet your individual goals while embracing other cultures.

Celebrate a World of Flavors by:

  1. Meal Planning: Enjoy healthful eating at school, work, and at home
  2. Cooking and Prep: Learn cooking skills to create tasty meals to share and enjoy by attending a Healthy Teaching kitchen class
  3. Vary Your Diet: Eat a variety of nutritious foods every day that you enjoy
  4. Visit a Registered Dietitian: VA Dietitians align with the VA’s Whole Health program centering around what matters to you to develop a personalized health plan based on your values, needs, and goals to improve the overall health and well-being of our Veterans and their families.

If you want to learn more about nutrition health topics, VA recipes and cookbooks, and how you can partner with a registered dietitian nutritionist today check out National Nutrition Month ® - Nutrition and Food Services (va.gov).

Likewise, you can talk with your TVHS provider to get referred to a TVHS registered dietitian.
