Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) Bone Marrow Transplant team was recognized as being “one of the best in the country in all aspects of care for Veterans in need of transplant and cellular therapy.”

The team received a Certificate of Excellence by the Center for International Blood and Marrow Research (CIBMR), which signifies the team’s outstanding commitment to submitting quality data, as reflected by achieving an error rate of less than or equal to 1% in their most recent CIBMTRP Data Audit.

Medical Director of Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Dr. Salyka Sengsayadeth praised her team in all of the hard work they do and the endless care they provide for Veterans across the country.

“The work we do and the way our staff care for Veterans is remarkable,” Dr. Sengsayadeth said. “It really is a team effort.”

TVHS is the only VA medical center with four transplant programs including liver, heart, kidney, and stem cell. TVHS is the only stem cell transplant unit in VA offering cell-based immunotherapies (CAR-T Cell) for refractory malignancies. Every year, TVHS has exceeded expected survival ranking among the nation's best both privately and within VA.
