In a touching display of holiday spirit and gratitude, the Tomah VA Medical Center hosted its annual festive feast on December 17, 2025, bringing joy and warmth to the Veterans who call the center home.

On December 17, 2025, the Tomah VA Medical Center was abuzz with festive cheer as it celebrated the holiday season with a special meal for the Veterans who reside here. This beloved annual tradition united Veterans, staff, and leadership in a joyful holiday celebration.

The dedicated Nutrition and Food Service staff meticulously planned and prepared an exceptional holiday feast, using the finest ingredients to create comforting and delicious dishes.

The cafeteria was transformed into a winter wonderland, adorned with garlands, twinkling lights, and holiday-themed centerpieces, creating a warm inviting atmosphere.

Upon arrival, Veterans were warmly welcomed by leadership members, including Associate Director Dr. Bryan Prahl, Chief of Staff Dr. James Daniels, and Associate Director of Patient Care Molly Ritter.  The festive menu featured a choice of succulent beef, savory ham, or tender chicken, accompanied by mashed potatoes with rich gravy, vegetables, and buttered rolls. For dessert, Veterans enjoyed classic pumpkin pie or chocolate cake.

For Veterans unable to visit the cafeteria, staff delivered trays of food to their rooms, ensuring everyone, regardless of their mobility or health, could partake in the holiday celebration. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Crosse Roads Quintet played live holiday music,  filling the air with classic holiday tunes, evoking feelings of nostalgia and joy.

The room was filled with lively conversations and laughter as Veterans and staff connected and shared stories. Veterans expressed their gratitude not only for the meal but for the care and attention dedicated to making the day so special. The holiday celebration at Tomah VA Medical Center was more than just a meal; it was a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our nation, ensuring they felt the warmth and joy of the holiday season.

The event highlighted the Tomah VA Medical Center's commitment to holistic care, going beyond medical treatment to address the emotional and social well-being of the Veterans. It provided a sense of community and belonging, reminding Veterans that they are valued and appreciated.
