Tuscaloosa VA – Meeting Veterans Where They Are

Group of people in a circle discussing in a room.

This week, the Tuscaloosa VA has continued its commitment to meeting Veterans' needs both on campus and in the community.

In an inspiring event, the Suicide Prevention’s Community Engagement and Partnership’s Coordinator hosted the Hale County Veterans’ Hour at a local Community Center. This gathering provided an opportunity for Veterans to connect with one another and learn about available VA resources. Our Caregiver Support Coordinator, along with a Social Work intern, shared valuable information and engaged with attendees. Veterans and their families appreciated the sense of connection and the wealth of resources provided.

Additionally, the Women's Health team demonstrated their support and care by hosting their bi-annual baby shower. In a heartwarming gesture, one basket of baby care items was specially delivered to a new mom who had welcomed her baby over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Veterans at the Community Living Center have expressed their gratitude, noting that Tuscaloosa’s CLC is a "good place to be" and praising the staff for their exceptional care and kindness.

The Tuscaloosa VA is proud to be there for our Veterans, wherever they may be, ensuring they have the support and resources they need to thrive.
