Citation Nr: 18140893 Decision Date: 10/09/18 Archive Date: 10/09/18 DOCKET NO. 17-27 847 DATE: REMANDED An increased rating in excess of 30 percent for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with depression, is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND The Veteran had active service from May 1966 to May 1969. This matter is on appeal from a July 2014 rating decision. 1. An increased rating in excess of 30 percent for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with depression is remanded. In a September 2018 statement, the Veteran’s representative asked that this issue be remanded for a new VA examination as the last examination, conducted in July 2014, was inadequate to properly rate his current level of disability. Accordingly, the Veteran should be provided an opportunity to report for a VA examination to ascertain the current severity and manifestations of the disability. The matter is REMANDED for the following action: Schedule the Veteran for an examination by an appropriate clinician to determine the current severity of his service-connected PTSD with depression. The examiner should provide a full description of the disability and report all signs and symptoms necessary for evaluating the Veteran’s disability under the rating criteria. To the extent possible, the examiner should identify any symptoms and functional impairments due to the disability alone and discuss the effect of the Veteran’s disability on any occupational functioning and activities of daily living.
