Citation Nr: 18142752 Decision Date: 10/17/18 Archive Date: 10/16/18 DOCKET NO. 14-34 304 DATE: October 17, 2018 REMANDED Entitlement to payment of a clothing allowance for a knee brace used for service-connected right knee disability for calendar year 2014 is remanded for additional development. The Veteran applied for a clothing allowance for calendar year 2014 for damage caused to his clothing by a knee brace used for his service-connected right knee disability. On his August 2014 VA Form 9, he indicated that he had an appointment to be fitted for a knee brace from the Houston VA Prosthetic clinic in September 2014. Records associated with this new knee brace, including the 2014 Prosthetics consult are not associated with the claims file. Therefore, a remand is necessary so that they may be obtained. The matter is REMANDED for the following actions: 1. Associate with the claims file any outstanding, relevant treatment notes, to include September 2014 VA medical records pertinent to the new unloader knee brace the Veteran described on his VA Form 9. 2. Adjudicate the issue on appeal. If the benefit sought is not granted to the Veteran’s satisfaction, a supplemental statement of the case should be issued to the Veteran and his representative, and they should be afforded the requisite opportunity to respond. Thereafter, the case should be returned to the Board for further appellate action. L. HOWELL Veterans Law Judge Board of Veterans’ Appeals ATTORNEY FOR THE BOARD K. M. Schaefer, Counsel
