REASONS FOR REMAND The appellant had active service in the U.S. Naval Reserve from August 1984 to March 1985. He asserts that he had additional service in the U.S. Naval Reserve from March 1985 to July 1992. Entitlement to service connection for head and back trauma is remanded. The appellant asserted in his claim that he was injured on February 17, 1985 while traveling to or from military assignment. The appellant’s service treatment records and service personnel records from his U.S. Naval Reserve service are incomplete. Additional development is required in order to properly adjudicate this claim. The matter is REMANDED for the following action: Request all of the appellant’s U.S. Naval Reserve service treatment and personnel records from any and all appropriate sources. Determine each time period that the Veteran served on active duty (AD), active duty for training (ACDUTRA) or inactive duty training (INACDUTRA). In this endeavor attempt to obtain his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) and/or Military Personnel Record Jacket or the like. The appropriate agencies must be contacted to obtain these additional records. All attempts to obtain this information, and all responses received, must be documented in the claims file. Also ask the appellant to provide any service treatment records or service personnel records that may be in his possession relating to his U.S. Naval Reserve service.
