Citation Nr: 18145447 Decision Date: 10/29/18 Archive Date: 10/29/18 DOCKET NO. 16-12 497 DATE: October 29, 2018 REMANDED Entitlement to service connection for a left shoulder condition is remanded. Entitlement to service connection for a right shoulder condition is remanded. Entitlement to service connection for a left knee condition is remanded. Entitlement to service connection for a right knee condition is remanded. Entitlement to service connection for gastroenteritis is remanded. Entitlement to service connection for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is remanded. Entitlement to service connection for migraine headaches is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND In a March 2013 examination, the Veteran identified relevant outstanding private treatment records. A remand is required to allow VA to obtain authorization and request these records. The matters are REMANDED for the following action: 1. Ask the Veteran to complete authorization to obtain his records of treatment from Dr. Charles Mitchell. Make two requests for the authorized records from Dr. Mitchell, unless it is clear after the first request that a second request would be futile. 2. After the above development has been completed, schedule the Veteran for an examination by an appropriate clinician to determine the nature and etiology of any gastrointestinal disorder. The examiner should opine whether it is at least as likely as not related to an in-service injury or disease, including diagnosed gastroenteritis and bouts of diarrhea. If the newly acquired records contain treatments for or records regarding the Veteran's shoulder, knee, or migraine conditions, an addendum opinion should be obtained for each condition so mentioned. The new opinion should address the newly obtained medical records. M. E. KILCOYNE Veterans Law Judge Board of Veterans’ Appeals ATTORNEY FOR THE BOARD J. Uller, Associate Counsel
