Citation Nr: 18147982 Decision Date: 11/07/18 Archive Date: 11/06/18 DOCKET NO. 16-45 888 DATE: November 7, 2018 REMANDED Entitlement to a rating higher than 30 percent for service-connected post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND The Veteran served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force from December 1964 to September 1968. Entitlement to a rating higher than 30 percent for service-connected post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is remanded. The Veteran’s most recent VA examination was in February 2014, then, he was scheduled for a VA PTSD examination in June 2016 and failed to appear. In his September 2016 substantive appeal, the Veteran noted that his symptoms had worsened and requested a new examination be scheduled. The Board finds that one additional opportunity to appear for a VA examination is warranted to determine the current severity of his mental condition. The matter is REMANDED for the following action: 1. Obtain any outstanding treatment records relevant to the claim on appeal. 2. Schedule the Veteran for a VA examination to determine the current nature and severity of his PTSD. The Veteran’s claims file should be made available to and reviewed by the examiner. H.M.
