Citation Nr: 18151976 Decision Date: 11/20/18 Archive Date: 11/20/18 DOCKET NO. 16 35-923 DATE: November 20, 2018 REMANDED Entitlement to an evaluation higher than 10 percent for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND The appellant is a Veteran who served on active duty from August 1968 to August 1971. This matter is before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (Board) on appeal from an August 2014, rating decision of the Indianapolis, Indiana, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office (RO). Entitlement to an evaluation higher than 10 percent for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is remanded. In March 2014, the Veteran claimed his PTSD symptoms worsened. He most recently underwent a VA examination in August 2014. In February 2015, the Veteran stated his symptoms more closely approximate a 30 percent rating, and he explained that he experiences many of the same symptomatology iterated by the rating criteria for a 30 percent evaluation. In a November 2018, statement, the Veteran’s representative asserted that the Veteran’s symptoms have worsened since he was last examined. It was relayed that the Veteran had downplayed his symptoms at the 2014 examination, and his symptoms were in fact more severe in nature. As such, the Veteran should be provided an opportunity to report for a VA examination to ascertain the current severity of his PTSD. The matter is REMANDED for the following action: 1. Obtain any outstanding VA and private medical records and associate these records with the claims folder. 2. Arrange for the Veteran to undergo an appropriate examination, to determine the current severity of his PTSD. H.M. WALKER Veterans Law Judge Board of Veterans’ Appeals ATTORNEY FOR THE BOARD E.
