Citation Nr: 18154054 Decision Date: 11/29/18 Archive Date: 11/28/18 DOCKET NO. 16-57 996 DATE: November 29, 2018 ORDER Entitlement to service connection for an acquired psychiatric disorder, diagnosed as other trauma and stressor-related disorder, is granted. FINDINGS OF FACT 1. The Veteran served on active duty in the United States Army from December 1973 to August 1997, including service in Southwest Asia and Somalia. 2. The Veteran’s reports of exposure to dead bodies and the smell of burning human flesh during his deployments to Southwest Asia and Somalia are consistent with the circumstances of his service. 3. In a July 2014 examination report, a VA psychologist opined that the Veteran’s diagnosed other trauma and stressor-related disorder was at least as likely as not related to his deployment experiences.   CONCLUSION OF LAW The criteria for entitlement to service connection for an acquired psychiatric disorder, diagnosed as other trauma and stressor-related disorder, are met. 38 U.S.C. §§ 1110, 1131, 1154(a); 38 C.F.R. § 3.303.
