REASONS FOR REMAND The Veteran had active service from September 1963 to May 1967 and additional service in the National Guard. Entitlement to service connection for diabetes mellitus, type II, to include as due to Agent Orange exposure is remanded. The Veteran asserts that he served on temporary duty at Don Muang Royal Thai Air Force Base in June and July 1966 and that he was exposed to herbicides during his service in Thailand. His service personnel records are not a part of his claims file and should be obtained in order to fully develop his claim. The matter is REMANDED for the following action: 1. Request all of the Veteran’s Air Force service treatment and personnel records from any and all appropriate sources. All attempts to verify whether the Veteran had service in Thailand and whether he had exposure to Agent Orange from all appropriate government records repository and/or sources of information should be contacted. Efforts to obtain this information should be documents in the record. 2. Request all of the Veteran’s National Guard service treatment and personnel records from any and all appropriate sources, including the North Carolina Adjutant General’s office. LESLEY A.
