Citation Nr: 18157039 Decision Date: 12/11/18 Archive Date: 12/11/18 DOCKET NO. 16-61 803 DATE: December 11, 2018 REMANDED Entitlement to a compensable disability rating for erectile dysfunction is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND On review, the Board finds that additional development is necessary prior to final adjudication of the Veteran’s claim. Specifically, the July 2014 VA examiner that performed the prostate cancer Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) indicated that the Veteran has erectile dysfunction, but did not go on to perform a DBQ specific to erectile dysfunction. Upon review of the July 2014 VA DBQ, the Board finds that there is insufficient information for rating purposes. For example, under Diagnostic Code 7522 a 20 percent disability rating is warranted for deformity of the penis with loss of erectile power. The Note for Diagnostic Code 7522 indicates that, when evaluating any claim involving loss or loss of use of one or more creative organs, refer to 38 C.F.R. § 3.350 to determine whether the veteran may be entitled to special monthly compensation. The Board notes that the Veteran is already in receipt of special monthly compensation under 38 U.S.C. § 1114(k) and 38 C.F.R. 3.350(a) due to loss of use of a creative organ, effective September 30, 2013. A separate rating under Diagnostic Code 7522 may only be awarded for deformity of the penis with loss of erectile power. The July 2014 VA examiner did not provide any information regarding whether the Veteran has a loss or erectile power or whether the penis is deformed. Accordingly, the Board finds that the Veteran must be provided an appropriate examination that includes all pertinent testing, to evaluate the severity of his service-connected erectile dysfunction. The matter is REMANDED for the following action: 1. Schedule the Veteran for a VA examination before an appropriate examiner to determine the current severity of his service-connected erectile dysfunction. The examiner must review the record, and consider the Veteran’s documented medical history, assertions, and reported symptoms. The examiner must address: the current severity of the Veteran’s erectile dysfunction, as well as specify whether the Veteran has deformity of his penis and loss of erectile dysfunction. The AOJ should ensure that the examiner provides all information required for rating purposes. H.M. WALKER Veterans Law Judge Board of Veterans’ Appeals ATTORNEY FOR THE BOARD T.
