Citation Nr: 18158083 Decision Date: 12/18/18 Archive Date: 12/14/18 DOCKET NO. 16-26 016 DATE: December 18, 2018 REMANDED The issue of whether a retroactive Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability compensation payment in the amount of $4,645.55 was proper is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND The Veteran served on active duty from July 1964 to July 1967 and from July 1971 to July 1988. The appeal was remanded in June 2016, in part, to allow a Decision Officer (DRO) to adjudicate the claim at the Agency of Original Jurisdiction (AOJ). To date, no such action has been undertaken. Rather, the AOJ provided a July 2016 letter to the Veteran explaining how his retroactive compensation payment was calculated and requesting the Veteran clarify the nature of his dispute with the payment. The Veteran did not respond. The issue was then returned to the Board. As the AOJ did not provide a DRO review and adjudication of the claim as directed by the June 2016 remand, it must be remanded for a Supplemental Statement of the Case (SSOC). The matter is REMANDED for the following action: Issue an SSOC by a DRO addressing the appeal for whether a retroactive disability compensation payment in the amount of $4,645.55 was proper.
