Citation Nr: 18107331 Decision Date: 06/05/18 Archive Date: 06/01/18 DOCKET NO. 15-03 628A DATE: June 5, 2018 REMANDED Entitlement to an initial evaluation in excess of 10 percent for coronary artery disease (CAD) is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND Entitlement to an initial evaluation in excess of 10 percent for CAD is remanded. The most recent VA examination into this claim was conducted in May 2014, approximately four years ago. The Veteran contends that his condition has worsened. See February 2015 VA Form 9. The Veteran’s representative has requested a new examination and asserted that the Veteran’s disability is worse and the available evidence is too old to adequately evaluate his heart condition. See August 2015 Appellant’s Brief. The Board finds that a remand is warranted and the Veteran should be provided with a new examination. Further, a readjudication of the claim would be appropriate inasmuch as relevant evidence has been included in the claims file since the February 2015 Statement of the Case (SOC). See 38 C.F.R. §§ 19.31, 20.1304(c). The matter is REMANDED for the following action: 1. Undertake appropriate development to obtain any outstanding VA and private treatment records pertinent to the Veteran’s claim. 2. Schedule a VA examination to determine the current severity of the Veteran’s service-connected coronary artery disease. Any and all indicated studies deemed necessary by the examiner should be accomplished. The criteria noted under Diagnostic Code 7005 of 38 C.F.R. § 4.104 must be addressed in full. 3. After the completion of any action deemed appropriate in addition to that requested above, the claim should be readjudicated. All evidence received since the February 2015 SOC should be considered. If any benefit sought remains denied, the Veteran and his representative should be provided a Supplemental Statement of the Case (SSOC). DONNIE R.
