Citation Nr: 18108294 Decision Date: 06/04/18 Archive Date: 06/04/18 DOCKET NO. 12-07 151 DATE: June 4, 2018 REMANDED Entitlement to an initial rating in excess of 30 percent for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND The Veteran served on active duty in the United States Army from August 1969 to March 1971. PTSD Although the Board regrets further delay, another remand is necessary to afford the Veteran every possible consideration. In September 2016, the Board remanded the case, instructing the regional office (RO) to obtain additional medical records that were not a part of the record. The RO sent correspondence to the Veteran in November 2016 of the information needed to retrieve such records and did not receive a response. In May 2018, the Veteran’s representative filed an appellate brief notifying the Board the Veteran never received the notification and the Veteran’s address listed was spelled incorrectly. Therefore, because there is an indication the Veteran never received the November 2016 correspondence, the Board finds that a remand is required in order to retrieve additional treatment records. The matter is REMANDED for the following action: 1. Ensure the Veteran’s claims file is updated with his correct current address as noted in the May 2018 Appellate Brief. 2. Once the Veteran’s current address is verified, send notification to the Veteran requesting the names, addresses, and approximate dates of treatment for all medical care providers who treated the Veteran for his PTSD. Specifically, ensure all records referenced in the Veteran’s December 2013 VA examination are retrieved. As needed, signed release forms for private records should be obtained. All requests for records and responses must be associated with the claims folder. I JENNIFER HWA Veterans Law Judge Board of Veterans’ Appeals ATTORNEY FOR THE BOARD J. Negron, Associate Counsel
