Entitlement to Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) benefits under 38 U.S.C. § 1318 is dismissed. FINDINGS OF FACT 1. In a December 2019 letter to the Board, the Appellant, on behalf of the Veteran, withdrew his claim of entitlement to service connection for the cause of the Veteran's death. 2. In a December 2019 letter to the Board, the Appellant, on behalf of the Veteran, withdrew his claim of Entitlement to Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) benefits under 38 U.S.C. § 1318. CONCLUSIONS OF LAW 1. The criteria for dismissal of service connection for the cause of the Veteran's death have been met. 38 U.S.C. § 7105; 38 C.F.R. § 20.205. 2. REASONS AND BASES FOR FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS The Veteran served on active duty in the Army from July 1968 to March 1970, including service in the Republic of Vietnam. The appellant is his surviving spouse. This matter comes before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (Board) on appeal from a December 2018 rating decision from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office (RO). In a December 2019 letter to the Board, the Appellant, on behalf of the Veteran, withdrew his appeal in connection with claims of entitlement to service connection for the cause of the Veteran’s death and Dependency and Indemnity Compensation. See December 2019 Correspondence. Accordingly, the Board does not have jurisdiction to review this appellate claim, and it is dismissed. STEVEN D.
