REMANDED

Entitlement to an initial rating in excess of 30 percent for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is remanded.

REASONS FOR REMAND

The Veteran served on active duty in the Army from September 1964 to August 1967.

This matter is before the Board on appeal of an August 2017 rating decision that granted service connection for PTSD with a 30 percent disability rating as of October 31, 2012.

The Veteran's representative contended in November 2019 that the Veteran’s PTSD had worsened since the time of his last VA examination for evaluation of PTSD in May 2014 and that the severity of his symptoms have not fully been considered by VA. The Board finds that remand is warranted to fully assist the Veteran with the development of his claim for an increased rating for PTSD.

The matter is REMANDED for the following action:

1. Obtain updated VA treatment records from November 2020 to the present.

2. Schedule the Veteran for a VA examination to evaluate the current severity of the service-connected PTSD.
