REMANDED

A compensable rating for impetigo.

REASONS FOR REMAND

In July 2019, the Board denied a compensable rating for impetigo.  The Veteran appealed to the Veterans Claims Court.  In July 2020, the Court Clerk granted a Joint Motion for Partial Remand (JMPR), thereby vacating the Board’s decision.  

Pursuant to the JMPR, another examination is needed to fully weigh the Veteran’s September 2015 statement that impetigo was present on the bottom of his lip, the bottom of his chin, below his chin, and to the right and left of his chin.  Therefore, in accordance with the JMPR, further development is required in order to determine the current severity of his disability.   

The matter is REMANDED for the following actions:

1. Identify and obtain all pertinent, outstanding VA and private treatment records that are not currently of record and associate them with the claims file.

2. Schedule the Veteran for an examination to determine the current severity of impetigo.  The claims fine should be made available to, and reviewed by, the examiner.  All indicated tests and studies should be performed.  The examiner should provide all information required for rating purposes.  

The examiner must specifically consider the Veteran’s September 2015 statement describing the extent of his impetigo and its location on his exposed body.
