REMANDED

A compensable rating for bilateral hearing loss.

REASONS FOR REMAND

In December 2018, the Board remanded the claim for entitlement to a compensable rating for bilateral hearing loss in order to obtain a new VA examination. In September 2019 correspondence, VA notified the Veteran that he was being scheduled for an examination; however, the notice was sent to the wrong address and he failed to report for his examination. 

In sum, it appears that the Veteran did not receive proper notice of the scheduled VA examination at his current address. Thus, he should be scheduled for a new VA examination and must be notified at his current address of record. 

The matter is REMANDED for the following actions:

1. Identify and obtain any pertinent, outstanding VA and private treatment records and associate them with the claims file. 

2. Schedule the Veteran for an examination to determine the current severity of service-connected bilateral hearing loss. The claims folder must be made available to the examiner. All pertinent symptomatology and findings must be reported in detail.

3. The Regional Office (RO) should verify the Veteran’s correct current mailing address and notify him as to the date, time, and location of the VA examination.
