Citation Nr: 21064861 Decision Date: 10/21/21 Archive Date: 10/21/21 DOCKET NO. 11-00 716 DATE: October 21, 2021 REMANDED Entitlement to a clothing allowance for use of a back brace is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND The Veteran served on active duty in the United States Army from August 1980 to March 2001. This matter comes before the Board of Veterans' Appeals (Board) on appeal from a July 2017 decision of a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center. In July 2017, the Veteran was denied entitlement to a clothing allowance for use of her back brace. See July 4, 2017 Clothing Allowance Denial. The Veteran filed a timely Notice of Disagreement with this denial. See August 2017 VA Form 21-0958. The record does not show that this appeal has been resolved or that a Statement of the Case (SOC) has been issued with respect to this matter. Thus, remand is necessary for issuance of an SOC. See Manlincon v. West, 12 Vet. App. 238 (1999). The matters are REMANDED for the following action: Issue an SOC addressing entitlement to a clothing allowance for use of a back brace. S. BUSH Veterans Law Judge Board of Veterans' Appeals Attorney for the Board D.M. Badaczewski, Associate Counsel The Board's decision in this case is binding only with respect to the instant matter decided. This decision is not precedential and does not establish VA policies or interpretations of general applicability. 38 C.F.R. § 20.1303.
