The issue of a total disability rating based on individual unemployability due to service-connected disabilities (TDIU) prior to December 14, 2018, is remanded. REASONS FOR REMAND The Veteran served on active duty in the U.S. Navy from October 1983 to November 1983, and in the U.S. Army from December 1985 to February 1988. In December 2019, the Board denied a rating in excess of 70 percent for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and a TDIU prior to December 14, 2018. The Veteran appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (Court). In August 2020, the Court granted a Joint Motion for Remand, vacating the Board’s decision and remanding for further development and readjudication consistent with the motion. In a December 2020 correspondence, the Veteran’s representative identified potentially relevant Social Security Administration (SSA) records that have not been obtained. The Veteran’s representative expressed that the Veteran has had difficulty acquiring these records due to the pandemic and requested that VA assist in obtaining them. To date, it appears no efforts have been made to obtain the Veteran’s outstanding SSA records, and a remand of all issues on appeal is needed so that VA can make attempts to associate the records with the electronic claims file. The matters are REMANDED for the following action: Obtain the Veteran’s medical records from the SSA. Document all requests for information as well as all responses in the claims file. JAMES L.
