REMANDED

Entitlement to service connection for a low back disability is remanded.

Entitlement to service connection for a left knee disability is remanded.

REASONS FOR REMAND

The Veteran served on active duty for training from February 2004 to May 2004 and from February 2008 to May 2008, and on active duty from June 2010 to January 2011.

This matter comes before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (Board) from a January 2017 rating decision of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office (RO).  The Veteran testified at a hearing with the undersigned in October 2020.  

Additional evidence has been added to the file since the last adjudication of these claims by the RO.  At his hearing, the Veteran indicated he did not wish to waive RO review of this evidence.  As such, the issues are remanded so that the RO can consider the new evidence in the first instance.  38 C.F.R. §§ 19.31, 19.37, 20.1305.  

The matters are REMANDED for the following action:

1. With the Veteran’s assistance, obtain all outstanding treatment records relevant to his claims, to include from the provider identified by the Veteran in an October 2020 VA Form 21-4142.  

2. Readjudicate the claims for service connection for a low back and left knee disabilities.
