REMANDED

Entitlement to service connection for an eye condition, to include cataracts and glaucoma, is remanded.

REASONS FOR REMAND

Having reviewed the record, the Board finds remand is warranted.  Though the Veteran was afforded an examination in December 2020, further clarification is warranted.  The record does not yet contain an opinion addressing whether the Veteran’s eye condition, including cataracts and glaucoma, is at least as likely as not aggravated beyond its natural progression by service-connected diabetes mellitus.  Accordingly, remand is warranted for an addendum opinion.  On remand, the examiner, or an appropriate clinician, should provide an opinion on whether the Veteran’s eye condition was aggravated beyond its natural progression by service-connected diabetes. 

Any outstanding VA treatment records from November 2019 to present should be obtained and associated with the record.  

The matter is REMANDED for the following actions:

1. Obtain the Veteran’s VA treatment records for the period from November 2019 to present.  

2. Obtain an addendum opinion from an appropriate clinician regarding whether the Veteran’s eye condition, to include cataracts and glaucoma, is at least as likely as not aggravated beyond its natural progression by service-connected diabetes mellitus.
